The Language Institute (SLI) of the Faculty of Philology at the University of Fribourg is delighted to present our diverse range of courses for the year 2025. These courses are specifically tailored for university, school, and other higher education staff worldwide, offering exceptional opportunities for language proficiency, professional development, and international exchange.
Our programmes consist of 20 hours per week and focus on the following areas:
• German courses (A1-C1): Interactive language courses designed not only to enhance your German language skills but also to immerse you in the culture.
• Teacher training (in English): Emphasizing theater as an innovative pedagogical tool.
• Insights into the German academic world (in English): Providing valuable perspectives on functions, topics, and issues.
• Interdisciplinary seminars (in English): Offering a comprehensive understanding of Germany within the European context.
Our courses take place in a relaxed atmosphere in the historic centre of Freiburg. The picturesque old town campus and Freiburg’s unique location provide ideal opportunities for excursions to the border triangle – whether to the Black Forest, Basel, Zurich, Strasbourg, or even Paris and Milan.
