The United Nations Society, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Faculty of Law (UNSOC – AUTH, Faculty of Law) is an independent, non-profit association, founded in October 2020 by students of the Law School and open to AUTH students of law and other faculties. UNSOC’s main areas comprise International Law, diplomacy, and international relations. It is also actively engaged in providing information concerning the principles, functions and activities of the United Nations. Moreover, the association prepares (during weekly training sessions) organised delegations representing the Law School in Model United Nations both on a national and an international level, allowing students to place themselves in the position of a country’s diplomatic delegation, presenting its views before the (simulated) organs of the United Nations. The UNSOC also hosts numerous events open to its members and to the general public (including academic panels, workshops, working groups, etc.). UNSOC’s fundamental goals include the academic formation of its members in the above fields, as well as the fostering of a spirit of cooperation, teamwork and mutual support among its members.
