The course ‘Institutions of Roman Private Law’ aims at giving an overview of several Institutions of the Roman Private Law and of the notions which underlie them. The course follows Gaius’ tripartite division to Law of Persons, Law of Things and Law of Actions (procedures). It contributes to a better understanding of specific modern Private Law Institutions originating from Roman Law.
